You
can incorporate the Xvest™
into your conditioning and on-court playing quickness.
In tennis, your ability to laterally move is extremely
important, especially now with the ball traveling
at higher speeds. An exercise for tennis players
with the Xvest™
is to set up on one side of the court and have you
do a lot of crossover carioca side shuffle step drills
to improve your lateral speed. We work on both directions
for distance and time. You can also take the Xvest™
and work in a forward motion or a side-backwards crossing
drill to help develop lateral resistance speed.
You
can also incorporate the Xvest™ into all your conditioning programs.
Because tennis matches can last a very long time,
your conditioning level will often be challenged.
By adding the Xvest™
into your roadwork, stair-step conditioning drills,
treadmills, or whatever workout/conditioning program
you use, it will dramatically help improve your conditioning.
Remember to start off at a low-level weight and develop
the weight resistance over a period of time. It is
very important periodize (schedule) the weight resistance
over the course of the training period and season.
