Basketball drills and how you can incorporate the Xvest

You can incorporate the Xvest into many of your Basketball drills.  If you are a point guard, your ability to have quick hands and quick feet are extremely important. One of the drills we like to do is: take another guard with an Xvest on, put their hands into a glove that has a resistance band connected to the Xvest and have him play the defensive position.  Have the other guard do zigzag and quickness moves to make the defensive guard react (Mirror drill).  Repeat this drill 2-3 times up and down the court, pull the Xvest off, and do the drill without it.  What we are doing is showing your body how it can work at a quicker rate, now that you do not have the resistance of the added weight against your upper body and your legs.

If you are a two-guard, you really have to work to create your own shot. So set up some barriers and put on the Xvest™ and run drills around the barriers, jump and shoot the ball. This drill or others like it will improve your ability to separate you from your defender and elevate to shoot the ball. Always remember to rerun the drills without the vest on (Contrast Training).
